I CAN ONLY PROMISE

I can’t promise you the stars above for they belong to God.

I can only promise you the stars in my eyes

when I feel your love.

I can’t promise you the sun’s warm rays.

I can only promise you my warm embrace.

I can’t promise you the deepest sea and endless sands.

I can only promise you my endless love as we hold hands.

I can’t promise you a warm rain on a summer day.

I can only promise that I’ll love you in every way.

I can’t promise you a life with no pain.

I can only promise that by your side I’ll always remain.

I can’t promise you the moon above.

I can only promise that it’s you, I’ll always love.

I WISHED

Once upon a time,

I wished I were richer than me.

I wished I were smarter than me.

I wished I were a little taller than me.

I wished I was a little stronger than me.

I wished I was a little healthier than me.

I wished I was more outgoing than me.

I wished I was a little happier than me.

All in all, I wished I wasn’t me!

If all my wishes came true, then I wouldn’t be me.

And if I wasn’t me, I wouldn’t have lived

the life I lived as me.

If I didn’t live the life I lived as me, then I would

have missed out on the life God gave me.

And, I wouldn’t want to have missed out of being

just as God made me.

A LITTLE GIRL

A little girl, hair as white as snow, growing up faster than we all know.

A little girl, ready to go on stage, grandpa, I’m not sure I can, for I am afraid.

A little girl reassured she can do whatever it takes to be the greatest God makes.

A little girl deep breath and smile, an impressive little girl graciously walks down the modeling aisle.

A little girl unsure of life, faces the world of unforgiving strife.

A little girl lifts her head, takes a giant step toward what she may dread.

A little girl’s uncertainty, knows that there are those who love her unconditionally.

A little girl takes on the unknown, learns how to fight and shines like a gemstone.

A young girl with hair as white as snow, is ready to take on the challenges of what life may throw.

A young girl grows with hope, finds courage and strength to always cope.

A young girl finds her way, by rising up and pushing aside the negative pray.

A young girl smiles and lifts her head and knows that there may be those against her, but she has the strength and nothing to dread.

A young girl with loved ones proud, rises above the evil crowed.

A young girl with her head lifted high, a song in her heart and a tear in her eye, is on her way; for her accomplishments are her dreams one day.

Brooklyn, with all our love, Congratulations for what you have

accomplished and for what is to come!!

Grandma & Grandpa

Steps in knowing God.

Open your bible and receive God’s message.

Open your heart and receive God’s love.

Open your mind and receive God’s knowledge.

Open your mouth and sing God’s praise.

Give your sole to his love and except him.

Give God all your worries and fears and trust in him.

Be still and know that God is all that is and is to come.

Blessed be the name of the Lord, learn, love and praise!

DARKNESS

Darkness surrounds me, I sit afraid in the night.

I close my eyes for helplessness I fight,

I don’t understand why I let the darkness prevail,

I just know that I don’t want to fail.

I see dark shadows all around; sometimes I feel like I may drown.

I pray that the darkness my sole not take,

I can’t find peace as my fears increase.

I’m scared of the darkness for it will not cease and I cannot find any peace.

I call out to God with growing fright, and I pray with all my might,

I feel a gentle touch as I open my eyes, and before me stands a heavenly light,

For God alone is holding me tight.

This came to me as I was thinking about our wonderful Niece and what a great mom she is.

MY SON, MY CHILD

My child’s mind is one of mystery, wanting to know and

questioning frequently. Although my child speaks few words,

I pray that God’s love to be heard, for with every day of care

and love, I always pray to God above. I ask for him to help my son

grow in thought, words, song and love.

With the end of day when I rest my head, I know my little one

is safe in bed.

I love my child with all my heart for with passing time, I promise him, that he will always be mine.

Little child

Little child open your eyes, it’s time to rise with the morning light.

Little child awake and see, all the adventures that you may seek.

Little child hurry and dress, it’s time for you to be filled with gladness,

Little child ride your bike, kick the ball and shine your light.

Little child laugh and sing, fill your day with wonderious things.

Little child say your prayers as we end this day with God’s fading sunlight.

Little child I watch you sleep and I pray each day for yours to keep.

Little child I too lay down, close my eyes and drift off to sleep,

Little child I can only dream, of your sweet little arms and how comforting.

Good night my little child and rest, for tomorrow more adventures await your quest.

GRACEFUL DANCER

Graceful dancer stretch out your arms, hold your head up and show your charm,

Graceful dancer stretch out your toes, bow your head as if to pose,

Graceful dancer sway oh so slow, move as if you’re the light of the world aglow.

Graceful dancer for you I pray, that you will always dance my way.

Graceful dancer I love you so, you fill my heart with happiness I know.

Graceful dancer you are the music, you are every beat of my heart.

Graceful dancer, dance today, please dance as if there’s no other day.

Graceful dancer bring joy and love, dancer dance on the clouds above,

Graceful dancer please dance away the hurt and sorrow.

Graceful dancer, please dance again tomorrow.

I BELIEVE

I believe in God above; I believe he will always show his love.

I believe in a rainy day, and that good things will come my way.

I believe in the sun above, and with every ray of light, we are blessed day and night.

I believe in a child’s smile, I believe in a baby’s cry,

I believe in true friends that care, for I know they will always be there.

I believe in doing our best, and in the end, God will do the rest.
